Gladys M. McDonald, Winterset

Services for Gladys M. McDonald, 82, a Madison County native who died Jan. 7 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, were held Monday afternoon at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was in the McDonald-Chase Cemetery.

Born Aug. 20, 1900, she was the daughter of William Victor and Mary Viola Smith Clark. She spent most of her lifetime in Madison County and married William Wallace McDonald June 12, 1919. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge 360.

Survivors include five sons, Wayne, Harold (Whitey), Victor Scott, Paul and James, all of Winterset; two daughters, Zola Haigh of Des Moines and Barbara Corkrean of Macksburg; 39 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Leonard and Melvin and a grandson; five brothers and two sisters.
