FRED T. NIBLO DIES
Former Resident Passes at His Home Near Redfield
Frederick Thomas Niblo, former Madison county resident, died at his farm home north of Redfield, Friday, May 16th, at the age of 68 years. With the exception of four years in South Dakota, Mr. Niblo spent his life in Iowa, residing in his present home since 1919.
The deceased, a son of David and Ellen Niblo was born in Jackson county, Iowa, November 25, 1877. The family later moved to this county and when Mr. Niblo was a young man, he taught school for nine or ten years. He later became a farmer, and was in partnership with his brother Will, for a number of years.
On October 31, 1910 he was married to Miss Lela Jones of Panora. About 17 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Niblo received Marvin Oakes into their home, and for ten years he resided with them, finishing his education and preparing for his life's work.
Mr. Niblo is survived by his wife, their foster son, Marvin Oakes, his aged mother, Mrs. Ellen Niblo of Linden, and one sister, Mrs. Bert Sarchett of Redfield. He also leaves three nephews and two nieces, Raymond of Atlantic, Harold Niblo of Redfield, Duane Sarchett of Redfield, Mrs. Kenneth Hawkins, and Mrs. M. E. Ridlen of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held at Redfield Monday afternoon, and burial was made in the Panora cemetery.
