Madison Township Man’s Body Lay All day in Field Until Found by Adopted Son.
The body of Gurney Busch, well known farmer of the Worthington neighborhood, was found lying in a field near his home late last Wednesday evening. The discovery was made by James Lloyd Busch, an adopted son. An examination revealed that Mr. Busch, who was 40, had died as the result of a stroke of apoplexy. He had started across the field to the home of a neighbor to use the telephone when the attack seized him.
Mr. Busch, the son of Robert and Margaret Bowman Busch, was born December 4, 1894, near Winterset. On August 3, 1914, he married Miss Pearl Cramlett, and they have since made their home in or near Worthington. They adopted a son, James Lloyd Busch.
Mr. Busch had six brothers and sisters and eleven half-brothers and sisters, ten of whom survive. These are Charles Busch of Los Angeles, Cal., William and Clifford Busch of Omaha, Nebr., George and Harold Busch of Creston, and Mrs. Birdie Cracheck, Mrs. Fern Dowell, Leslie, Floyd and Eugene Busch, all of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Ramsey-Richards funeral Home in charge of Rev. W. C. Porter. Burial was in the Worthington Cemetery.

Gurney Ray Bush, well known farmer of Madison county, died suddenly last Wednesday, January 24th, in a field, near his home in Madison township. Mr. Bush had started to the home of a neighbor to use the telephone. That evening his boy coming home from school saw his body in a field. It was found that stroke of apoplexy had caused his death.
Mr. Bush was born December 4, 1894, near Winterset, the son of Robert and Margaret Bowman Bush. On August 3, 1914, he married Miss Pearl Cramlet, and they have since made their home in or near Winterset, except for three years spent near Macon, Missouri. The couple adopted one son, James Lloyd Bush.
The deceased had six brothers and sisters and eleven half-brothers and sisters. Six of these have died. Those surviving are Charles Bush of Los Angeles, California; William and Clifford Bush of Omaha, Nebraska, George and Harold Bush of Creston, and Mrs. Birdie Cracheck, Mrs. Fern Dowell, Leslie, Floyd and Eugene Bush, all of Winterset.
Funeral services were held from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home Saturday at 2 p. m. in charge of the Rev. W. C. Porter, pastor of the United Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Worthington cemetery.
