OBITUARY

Matilda H. Jackson daughter of George W. and Harriett B. Jackson was born near Wyalusing, Pennsylvania, June 15, 1847 and departed this life April 15, 1940 at the age of 92 years and 10 months. She was the third child in a Methodist ministers family of seven, all girls, and her sisters are all deceased.

Her father recruited and was elected Captain of A Company of the 142nd Pennsylvania volunteers.

After the war was over she moved with her family to Illinois, where on September 18, 1870 she was married to Robert E. Bunnell. To this union were born five children, Nellie E. Lewis, John C. Bunnell, Beulah Renshaw, Fred J. Bunnell and Berneice Bunnell all of whom preceeded (preceded) her in death.

She had lived in or near Earlham since 1900. Was a member of the Methodist church, and very interested in all of the phases of the work of the church, missionary society, Ladies Aid and Sunday School.

Besides her own family of children she made a home for some of her nieces and nephews.

She leaves to mourn her loss two daughters-in-law, 10 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a circle of friends.
