JOHN BUNNELL DIED SUDDENLY

Well Known Penn Township Resident Taken By Heart Attack Early Saturday.

John C. Bunnell, 64, well known Penn township farmer died suddenly at about 3 o’clock Saturday morning when he was taken by a heart attack.

Mr. Bunnell had not complained of feeling badly and had gone about his work as usual Friday, tending the separator for his neighborhood threshing ring. His death came with scarcely any warning. Mrs. Bunnell heard him make a slight sound but he was gone before she could summon aid.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. Keast, Rev. Mitchell and the Masonic lodge were held at the Earlham M. E. church at 2:30 o’clock Monday afternoon. Interment was in the Earlham Cemetery.

OBITUARY

John Clayton Bunnell was born in Stark county, Illinois, October 23rd, 1872 died July 24, 1937, at the age of 64 years, nine months and one day.

He was the oldest son born to Mr. And Mrs. R. E. Bunnell. There being three sisters and one brother; Nellie, Beulah, Bernice, and Fred J. His sisters, brother and father have gone before.

John spent his boyhood days with his parents in Illinois, later moving to Kearney, Nebraska, in 1893 where they resided until 1899 when they moved to Iowa near Van Meter. Here he met his wife Edith Renshaw. They were married March 5, 1902. To this union was born one son C. Howard Bunnell and one daughter, Helen Gertrude Grewell.

John with his family moved to his present home March 1st, 1905 where he spent the remainder of his life.

To mourn his loss he leaves a wife, son, daughter, mother, and two grandchildren, Betty Rae and Dean Richard Grewell, also scores of other relatives and friends.
