MRS. HOWARD BUNNELL

After a long lingering illness covering a period of five years. Elma Golightly Bunnell passed away at the home of her parents Mr. And Mrs. Sanford Golightly in Earlham, January 24th, 1935.

Elma was born March 25th, 1902, in Jackson township, Madison county, Iowa, being 32 years, nine months and 29 days old at the time of her death.

She was converted and united with the Fairview M. E. church the year 1917 under the pastorate of Rev. Holmes. Her membership was transferred to the Earlham M. E. Church in 1923 and she has lived a consistent Christian life since that time.

The deceased was a member of the Earlham Eastern Star Lodge.

She was married to Howard Bunnell September 27, 1928 and they have spent their married life on a farm near Earlham.

Elma loved her home and her greatest desire was to get well, and go back to her home, but the One, who doeth all things well, has called her to the home, not made by hands eternal in the heavens.

Those left to mourn her departure, are her husband, her parents, her sisters, Mrs. Earl Meyers and Erma at home, her brothers, John, Jerome, Lloyd and Albert all of Earlham besides a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held January 26, at 2:00 o’clock in the Methodist church. Conducted by the Rev. Arthur P. Keast of Ottumwa, Iowa, assisted by the Rev. L. G. Wolfe of Earlham. Interment made in the Earlham cemetery.

Death of Mrs. Howard Bunnell

Earlham, Iowa, January 28. – The funeral services of Alma Golightly Bunnell were held at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon at two o’clock with Rev. A. P. Keast of Ottumwa, Iowa, preaching the sermon. Rev. Wolfe, pastor of the church assisted with the services. Mrs. Charles Soderburg and Mrs. Peter Bock sang “In the Garden” and “No Night There.”

Alma Golightly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Golightly was born March 1902, on a farm near Earlham, Iowa, and passed away at the home of her parents on January 24, 1935, at the age of 32 years. She united with the church at Fairview in 1917 later transferring her membership to the Earlham Methodist church where she was a member at the time of her death. She was also a member of the Eastern Star order. On September 27, 1928, she was married to Howard Bunnell and they made their home on a farm west of Earlham.

She leaves besides her husband, mother and father, two sisters, Mrs. Eva Meyers of Booneville, and Irma at home, four brothers, John, Jerome, Albert and Lloyd and many other relatives and friends.

Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
