Leslie Schoonover, Winterset

Leslie Schoonover, 98, of Winterset, died of a heart ailment Feb. 6, 1997 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services were Feb. 11 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Bob Epperson officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

He was born in Webster County on April 4, 1898 to Cassius Clay and Florence Belle (Hamblin) Schoonover. He married Frances Pauline Kirk on June 29, 1924 at Barney. He was a retired farmer and had owned his own produce store. He had been a resident of Winterset since 1980, having come from Lorimor. He was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Winterset.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers.

Surviving relatives include one son, Russell Dean Schoonover of Euless, Texas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
