BERT HARDY DIED HERE ON THURSDAY

Native of Winterset Had Lived All But 10 Years of Life Here

Bert L. Hardy, one of Winterset's prominent citizens for many years, died last Thursday at his home on West Washington street. He had been in delicate health for several years.

Mr. Hardy, who was a life-long resident of Winterset, except for 10 years spent on a farm in Union township, was 71 years of age at the time of his death. He was born here Nov. 2, 1869, the son of Henry W. and Carolyn A. Hardy.

On Feb. 20, 1890, he was married to Miss Ella Mills. They were the parents of three children, all of whom survive their father.

Over a long period of years he had been affiliated with the Masonic and Eastern Star orders of Winterset.

He was a salesman by profession during most of his life. For more than 30 years he was associated with the Starless Products company of Winterset.

He leaves his wife; one son, Fred Hardy of Minneapolis, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. M. J. Johnson of Minneapolis, and Mrs. J. O. Crisswell of Washington, Ia.; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Ira F. Ward, pastor of the Winterset Baptist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
