MRS. ALICE MCCREA OF ST. CHARLES DIES

Lived on Warren County Farm for Many Years

Mrs. Alice M. McCrea, a long-time resident of the community east of St. Charles, died Nov. 20, at the home of her son, Herman D. McCrea of near Norwalk. She was 76 years of age.

Mrs. McCrea had lived in Warren county, east of St. Charles since coming there from Shelbina, Mo., in 1906. She was the former Alice Mae DeLong, daughter of Philip and Lucinda DeLong and was born April 4, 1872, in Marshall county, Illinois.

She was married to William McCrea March 29, 1891. They began their married life on a farm near Pella, moving to Missouri in 1903. Mr. McCrea's death occurred June 17, 1944, and Mrs. McCrea continued to live on the farm until she became ill recently.

She is survived by two sons, J. Horace McCrea of St. Charles and Herman D. McCrea of Norwalk; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Zetta Oppenlander of Portland, Ore., and two brothers, D. W. DeLong of Osceola and A. O. DeLong of Minneapolis.

Funeral services were held Nov. 23 from the St. Charles Methodist church and burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
