Flossie E. Potter was born at Earlham, Iowa, August the 15, 1896. Died at her home in Van Meter, Iowa, July 23, 1923, aged 26 years 11months and 8 days.
She attended the Earlham schools, and was graduated before her 16th birthday, from the High School.
She was married to Herman Johnson, September 25th, 1915, they moved to Van Meter where they have since made their home.
Mrs. Johnson was member of the Friends Church at Earlham, having been converted in early life. She was an active member of the Busy Workers in Van Meter, and her sunny disposition in spite of her ill health was felt by all who knew her.
She leaves to morn (mourn) her departure her husband and her father, Wm. Potter, of Earlham and a number of uncles and aunts and a host of friends. Her mother and sister having passed away several years before. Mrs. Johnson has been in very poor helath (health) for some time, but her last sickness was of but a few days duration.

And the duties He gave me are done,
I shall watch at life’s western windows
The gleam of the setting sun.There will fall on my restless spirit
A hush so wondrously sweet
And I shall cross over the river
To rest at the Master’s feet.”Funeral services were held at the U. B. church, in Van Meter Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. N. A. Hollingshead, and the remains laid to rest in the Earlham cemetery.
