Kevin McBroom, Macksburg

Kevin Ray McBroom, 48, formerly of Des Moines, died Sept. 17, 2005, at his rural Mackburg home.

Services were held Thursday Sept. 22.

Kevin McBroom was born Feb. 28, 1956 in Sacramento, Calif. He was a self-employed carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray; grandfathers, Clell and John Byerly; his grandmother, Jenny Byerly; and three brothers, John, Tracey and Mike Blanchard.

He is survived by his mother, Donna Reed of Winter Park, Fla.; his grandmother, Lela of Summerdale, Ala.; his stepmother, Nellie of Lamoni; one daughter, April of Hartley; six sisters, Neta Updegraff and Rhonda Walter, both of Des Moines, Pamela Kemp of Denver, Colo., Lori Gruich of Lamoni, Sherry Francisco of Austin, Texas, and Deb Parsons of Clinton, Ill.; and five brothers, Randy of Grand River, Michael of Tacoma, Wash., Troy of Lamoni, Tony of Austin, Texas, and James Blanchard of Bonita Springs, Fla.
