EMIL JOHNSON

Emil Johnson was born at Karlskoga, Sweden, August 12, 1873 and passed away January 5, 1954, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Simmons of Kingston, Illinois. Age 80 years, four months, and 24 days. While in Sweden he worked with his father in the flour mill and shop. At the age of 20 years he and his sister came to Iowa where Emil engaged in farm work in the Early Chapel neighborhood.

He was united in marriage with Anna Anderson January 18, 1909. Two daughters, Sara and Emma were born to this union and they with their daughters continued to live in the Early Chapel neighborhood until 1934. Emil united with Early Chapel church in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and seven under the ministry of Claude J. Miller.

Survivors are Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Ross of Tonganoxie, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Simmons of Kingston, Illinois; eight grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Emil Johnson Dies In Illinois

Emil Johnson, who lived many years in the Early Chapel community of Madison county, died Tuesday Jan. 5th, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Simmons of Kingston, Ill. He was 80 years of age.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Sweden, where he was born at Karlskoga on Aug. 12, 1873. His early life was spent working with his father in a flour mill and plant in Sweden. He came to Iowa when he was 20 years of age, with his sister and settled in the Early Chapel neighborhood.

He was married to Anna Anderson on Jan. 18, 1909. They were parents of two daughters, Sara and Emma. They lived at Early Chapel until 1934.

Surviving are Mr. and Mrs. r. A. Ross of Tonganoxie, Kan., and Mr. and Mrs. Simmons of Kingston; and eight grandchildren.
