HELEN WATTS JONES

Helen Watts Jones, daughter of Chester and Cora Neff Jones, was born May 24, 1901 near Dexter, Iowa and went to be with her Lord on November 20, 1985 at the age of 84 years. Her parents and brother, Byron, preceded her in death.

Survivors include an aunt, Mrs. Bertha Jones, of Woodward, many cousins and a host of friends who will cherish memories of her.

Helen graduated from Earlham High School and Drake University. She also did some graduate work in Arizona.

She was an excellent elementary teacher at New Sharon and Boone, Iowa for 30 years. Later she served as visiting teacher and private tutor for 10 years.

Helen was a member of Central Christian Church and the Christian Women’s Fellowship in Boone where she had served as deaconess and librarian; the Delta Kappa Gamma and the Kappa Delti Pi societies and the Boone Chapter of the National Retired Teachers Association.

Following cremation, burial was in the Penn Center Cemetery near Earlham, Iowa
