William S. Johnston

William S. Johnston, son of Alexander and Elizabeth Johnson (Johnston) was born near Winterset, Iowa, December 22, 1866 and passed away into the life eternal in a private hospital in Des Moines, August 3rd, 1930, his age being 63 years, 7 months, 11 days.

He was united in marriage to Margaret E. Evans October 18, 1899 at Casey, Iowa, in Guthrie County. For three years he lived on a farm near Adair, Iowa; then moving to North Dakota, going in a homestead where he with his wife lived happily together for twenty-five years.

On October of last year, 1929, he moved to Earlham, where he lived until the time of his death.

Mr. Johnston united with the Church of Christ at Early Chapel when a young man, and always, remained faithful to his Master in word and in deed.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, one brother John D. Johnston, Pitzer; and three sisters. The sisters are: Mrs. Mary Witt, Macksburg, Iowa; Mrs. Matt Stevens, Calome, S. Dak.; Mrs. Elizabeth Fenimore, of Fargo, Okla.; also one boy Marry Moore, who has made his home with Mr. And Mrs. Johnston ever since he was five years of age, besides these a large number of relatives and friends.
