MaryBelle Luke, Winterset

MaryBelle Luke, 83, of Winterset died Oct.12, 2005 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 15, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Terry Kerr officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

MaryBelle Luke was born Aug. 23, 1922 in Madison County to Glenn Denver and Nellie Berniece (Ramsey) Jickling. On Aug. 3, 1941, she married Willis Rex Luke in Winterset. MaryBelle, a homemaker, also worked at the Des Moines Register & Tribune and Solar Aircraft, both of Des Moines, and the United Grocery Store. A resident of Madison County for all but two years of her life, she was a member of the First Christian Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter; an infant grandson, Ronald Wayne Barr; and an infant granddaughter, Angela Rae Luke.

She is survived by two sons, Darrell Luke of Belgrade, Mont., and Dan Willis Luke of Winterset; two daughters, Gayla Jean Barr of Lorimor and Karla Rae Hansen of Peru; and seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

MARYBELLE LUKE
Winterset

MaryBelle Luke, 83, passed away Wednesday at the Madison County Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, at Collins Oak Park Chapel. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery.

MaryBelle was bon in Madison County to Glenn and Berniece (Ramsey) Jickling. She married Rex Luke on August 3, 1941 in Winterset. She had been a homemaker, was a member of the First Christian Church, and had also worked at the United Grocery Store, the Des Moines Register & Tribune, and the Solar Aircraft.

MaryBelle is survived by her sons, Darrell Luke of Belgrade, Montana and Dan (Julie) Luke of Winterset; daughters, Gayla (Wayne) Barr of Lorimor and Karla (Denny) Hansen of Peru; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and an infant daughter.

A visitation will be held today from noon to 8 p.m. at Collins Oak Park Chapel, where family will great friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to her family.
