Zola Fern Lowden, 90, of Atlantic, died Dec. 14, 1996 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic. Funeral services were Dec. 19 at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield. The Rev. David Kincaide officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born in Winterset on Sept. 21, 1906 to Jacob and Milvina (Kegley) Sandy. She married Orie D. Lowden in Oskaloosa on June 10, 1926. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield; the Federated Garden Club, and a past member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, two sons; and one sister.

Surviving relatives include one daughter, Lael Hansen and husband Harold of Atlantic; one brother, Russell Sandy and wife Ruby of Boone; one sister, Charlotte Paull and husband George (Bill) of Winterset; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
