FREDERICK GRAHAM SERVICES SATURDAY

Victim of Hunting Accident in Nebraska Brought Home for Burial

Frederick D. Graham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Graham of Winterset, died at Alliance, Neb., on Wednesday of last week of wounds received in a hunting accident the preceding Sunday. He was 24 years of age.

Mr. Graham lived most of his life in this community. He was born here on Dec. 4, 1917. He attended the Winterset schools and graduated from the local high school with the class of 1936. He had learned telegraphy while working at the Rock Island station here as a messenger boy, and immediately after his graduation he secured a position with Western Union and was sent to Crawford, Neb. Later he was transferred to Holdredge, Neb., where he continued with Western Union for about two years. He then went to work for the Burlington railroad.

In May, 1939, he was married to Miss Ruth Sandell of Holdrege. They were the parents of one child, Susan Ann, born in LaCross, Wis., on Aug. 13, 1940. They moved to Alliance, Neb., in November, 1940, and had since made their home there.

The young man is survived by his wife and daughter; his parents, of Winterset; and two brothers, Harry Graham of Des Moines and Joe Graham of the U. S. army air corps, now stationed at Waco, Tex.

Funeral services were conducted here Saturday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Arthur Mortensen of the Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert O'Laughlin of Des Moines, Frederick Kuntz, George Montross, Wilbur Thompson, Don Lillard, and Hubert Fosher.
