Donald Loomis, Creston

Donald Eugene Loomis, 61, died January 2, 1993, at Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services are to be held Wed., Jan. 6, at 1:30 p.m. at Keating-Lindsay Funeral Home in Creston, with the Rev. Dwayne Henrichs officiating. Burial will be at Murray Cemetery.

Mr. Loomis was born in Clarke County to Clarence L. and Irma M. (Travis) Loomis. He lived in Union and Madison counties and was employed as a construction worker for Darrell Slater Construction Co. of Earlham. He was later employed at American Federal Savings and Loan in Des Moines before a disability caused early retirement. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. Mr. Loomis was a member of the United Church ofChrist in Earlham.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Surviving relatives include his father; five daughters, Donna Woods and Wilda Thomas, both of Perry, Karen Larson, Sharon Dress and Nora Harrison, all of Des Moines; a son LeRoy Todd of Clarksville, Tenn.; a sister, Leola Dolecheck of Kellerton; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial has been established in his name.
