Former Macksburg Resident Was Active in Church Youth Work
Mrs. Charles A. Thomas, formerly of Macksburg, died Tuesday, July 27 at Metuchen, N. J., where her home had been in recent years. She was 46 years of age.
Mrs. Thomas was the former Nina Barker, daughter of Peter and Flora Barker, and was born near Macksburg Dec. 26, 1901. She attended the Macksburg school, graduated from the Winterset high school, and later attended Western Union college at LeMars.
She was married to Charles A. Thomas on July 27, 1921. They were the parents of two children, Connie and Ronald.
She was a member of the Bethesda Baptist church at Macksburg and was active in religious affairs. During the last two years she had served as director of the Youth Federation of the Council of Churches at Metuchen.
Near surviving relatives are the husband and two children.
Funeral services were held last Saturday from the Bethesda Baptist church at Macksburg, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. W. A. Caldwell. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.
