Services for Jessie May Strawn, 93, of St. Charles, who died at the Bethesda Care Center, Winterset, on Sept. 6, were held Friday, Sept. 9, at the St. Charles Parish Church with the Rev. Chet Waterman officiating. Burial was at the St. Charles Cemetery.
Born Sept. 18, 1889 in Warren County, she was the daughter of Henry and Stella Hollbrok Martin. She attended St. Charles schools and married Charles Strawn Aug. 3, 1909. Mrs. Strawn was a member of the United Methodist Women and the United Methodist Church in St. Charles.
Survivors include sons, Ronald and wife, Wilma, Des Moines; Dale and wife, Rosemary, Altoona; John and wife, Northa, St. Charles; and Wayne and wife, Sallie, St. Charles; a daughter, Wilmarie McDonald and husband, Kenneth, St. Charles; a sister, Dorothy Camp of Muscatine; 25 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter and a son.
