GEORGE STRAWN, Santa Barbara, Calif.

Memorial services for George Earnest Strawn, who died January 31, 1982, were held Sunday, February 7, at Santa Barbara, Calif.

Born February 16, 1899 near St. Charles, Iowa, he was the son of John and Nellie Bumbarger Strawn.

He was graduated from St. Charles High School and Drake University. He served with the 168th Inf. (Rainbow Division) in World War I. After teaching in high schools in Iowa as well as at Drake, he and his family moved to Caifornia where he continued teaching until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife Jennie; a daughter, Avonelle Tierney of Port Heuneme; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild of California; a brother Paul of Whittier, Calif.; sisters Dorothy Mathis of Beaumont, Calif., Gladys Harden of Greenwich, Conn., Ruth Chapman of Des Moines, and Norma Cornick of Winterset.

Interment was at Santa Barbara, Calif.
