C. Ronald Strawn, 90, of Des Moines died Aug. 23, 2001, of a respiratory ailment at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 27, at Highland Park Christian Church in Des Moines. Burial was at St. Charles Cemetery.
Ronald Strawn was born Aug. 11, 1911, to Charles and Jessie (Martin) Strawn of St. Charles. He was educated in the St. Charles School disrict. A resident of Des Moines for 32 years, Ronald retired in 1975 as a pipefitter for John Deere. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Highland Park Christian Church and John Deere Retirement Group Local 450.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma, of Des Moines; three daughters, Sondra Faber of Seattle, Wash., Judy Greenfield of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Jacqui Hasting of Omaha, Neb.; three brothers, John and Wayne Strawn, both of St. Charles, and Dale Strawn of Ankeny; a sister, Wilmarie McDonald of St. Charles; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines.
