Wednesday, June 15, 1960CHARLES STRAWN Dies at 75 Years
Charles Strawn, well-known resident of St. Charles died at his home there last Thursday, June 9, 1960. He was 75 years of age.
Mr. Strawn was born in Union county, but had spent 66 years in Madison county. He was a son of John and Mary Wallick Strawn.
His active years were spent in farming. He was married on Aug. 3, 1909 to Jessie Martin, who survives him.
He also leaves five sons and two daughters, Ronald Strawn of Martensdale, Ralph Strawn of Truro, Mrs. Wilmarie McDonald and Wayne Strawn of St. Charles, and Mrs. Shirley Nichols of Owatonna, Minn. He also leaves 24 grandchildren; a great grandchild; and three sisters, Mrs. Josie Howe of Buffalo, Wyo., Mrs. Maude Keller of Richwood, N.J., anad Mrs. Grace Hutchison of Tipton.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the St. Charles Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. W. C. Trembly. Burial was made in the St. Charles
cemetery.
