Funeral services for Augusta E. Livingston, 89, were held Wed., Jan. 31 at the Jones Funeral Home, Washington, with the Rev. George Bisop officiating. Livingston died January 26 at the Brownlee Health Care Facility, Washington, from a sudden illness.

Born in Winterset July 4, 1901, she was the daughter of Oscar and Anna (Nehring) Lucas. She was raised and educated in Winterset and attended Monmouth College in Monmouth, Ill. She married David Palmer Livingston in Winterset September 3, 1924. She was a resident of Washington for the past 46 years and was a homemaker and a businesswoman. She was a past president of PEO, a member of the American Legion and Women's Auxiliary, Fortnights, the Republican National Committee and United Presbyterian Church where she had served as an elder.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Mary Palmer and Lenore Pick; and three brothers, Carl, George and Paul Lucas.

Surviving are her sons, David Livingston Jr. of Lititz, Pa., and Robert of Washington; two sisters, Albert Barrett of El Cerrito, Calif., and Theresa Lucas of Burlingame, Calif.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Elm Grove Cemetery.
