Grover G. Little, Winterset

Grover Guy Little, 81, of Winterset died of a heart ailment Feb. 18, 2002 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Gary Freeland officiating. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 20) with the family present from 6:30-8 p.m. Burial will be at Wight Cemetery, Webster Township, Madison County.

Grover Little was born May 31, 1920 in Madison County to Russell Guy and Phoebe Esther (Sweet) Little. He grew up in Madison County. He had resided in Des Moines and Ankeny before moving to Winterset in the early 1970s. He later moved to the Lorimor area. Grover had been a warehouse employee for Super Valu for 30 years. He also farmed in the Lorimor area following his retirement from Super Valu. In January of 1984, he married Bessie Hardisty Young in Adel. He attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ankeny.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Bessie of Winterset; two daughters, Gina Hayes (husband Edward) of Vineyard Haven, Mass., and Sheila Raymond (husband Tony) of Altoona; a brother, Russell (Junior) Little (wife Alberta) of Winterset; a sister, June Little of Winterset; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be directed to West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset.
