Funeral services for Charles E. Robbins, Sr., a former farmer in the Patterson and St. Charles area, were held Tuesday morning, July 22, from the Hamilton Funeral home in Des Moines.
Mr. Robbins died Sunday morning at Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines. He was 85 years of age.
He was born in Missouri on Dec. 16, 1889.
He was married to Goldie Wall on August 24, 1912. Mr. Robbins was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 60 years, and of Modern Woodmen of America.
He had been a resident of Des Moines since 1969.
Surviving are his wife; five sons, Fred of Des Moines, Rollie of Patterson, Cline of Prole, Charles Jr. and Sherman of Swan, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Dale Smith of Hurst, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Branchcomb of Des Moines; two half-brothers. John Wilcox of California and Irvin Wilcox of Des Moines; 20 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
Burial was in Mt. Pelier Cemetery northeast of Patterson.
