Mrs. Arie Lilley Dies At St. Charles

Mrs. Arie Lilley of Peru died Thursday, Sept. 15 at a nursing home in St. Charles. She was 82 years of age.

Mrs. Lilley was a long-time resident of the Peru community where she was born March 13, 1878, a daughter of Jacob and Nancy J. Simmons. She was married Nov. 18, 1889 to James H. Lilley. They were parents of two daughters, Gretchen and Edith. The former died in 1931.

She was a member of the Peru Methodist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Edith Thompson of Des Moines; Beverly Rigler, a granddaughter, whom she reared in her home; four other grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two brothers, Harley Simmons of Marshall, Tex., and Alvin Simmons of Crescent City, Calif.
