Merle Libby, New Paris, Ohio

Funeral services for Merle Libby, 69, will be held Sat., March 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Donald Frank officiating. Mr. Libby died March 2, 1993 at Oakridge Convalescent Center in Richmond, Ind. Visitation will be Fri. March 5 from 4 to 9 p.m. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery.

He was born in Winterset on May 17, 1923 to Elmer and Bessie (Kleatsch) Libby. He married Ruth Holliday on December 7, 1968 in Des Moines. He was a retired representative for Blue Cross and Blue Shield. A former resident, he was a member of the Winterset Lions Club, the Kiwanis Club, the American Legion and was a former Little League coach. He was a U. S. Army veteran of WW II.

Preceding him in death was his parents and a step-son.

Survivors include his wife of New Paris, Ohio; two daughters, Prudy Zanutto of Brookfield, Ill., and Jackie Maggio of Broaddus, Texas; three step-sons, John Nelson Jackson of Archer, Fla., Jeron Jackson of New Paris, Ohio and Mark Jackson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Dorothy Morrissey of Winterset, and Helen Snuffin of Council Bluffs; two grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to the family.
