Elmer Walter Libby, Winterset

Funeral services for Elmer Walter Libby, 77, were held Mon. Jan. 20 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence Lautt officiating. Mr. Libby died of cancer January 16 at Madison County Memorial Hospital.

A lifelong Madison county resident, he was born December 3, 1914 to Frank and Mamie (Brown) Libby. He married Elosia Mae Jacobe on February 14, 1940 in Peru. He was a farmer and a member of First United Methodist Church.

A sister preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife of Winterset; a son, Walter of Montevideo, Minn.; a daughter, Irene Griffin of Ankeny; two brothers, Dale of West Plains, Mo., and Ernest of St. Charles; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Hospice of Central Iowa.
