Obituaries - Mike Leonard, Springfield, Mo.

Services for Mike Leonard, 63, who died May 23 at a Springfield, Mo. hospital, were held May 27 at 10 a.m. at the Ayre-Goodwin Funeral Chapel with burial in White Chapel Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 11, 1919 to Lucian P. and Pearl Leonard. He lived most of his boyhood on a farm and attended the Winterset schools, graduating with the class of 1938.

In July of 1941, he and Edomia (Billie) Kellogg were married at Grant City, Mo.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Virginia Letto and Linda Bostic, Springfield, Marjorie Leonard, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mary Agree, Wichita, Kan.; a son, James of Des Moines; a brother, Harry of San Francisco, Calif.; sisters, Ruby Parker of Des Moines and Lorraine Wood of Indianola, and 13 grandchildren.

Mike Leonard

Lucian R. "Mike" Leonard, 63, Springfield, died at 4:43 p.m. Monday in St. John's Regional Health Center after a short illness.

Mr. Leonard had retired from the Springfield City Refuse Co., and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Edmonia "Billie"; a son, James, Des Moines, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. Virginia Lett and Mrs. Linda Bostic, both of Springfield, Miss Marjorie Leonard, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Mary Agee, Wichita, Kan.; a brother, Fred, San Francisco, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Parker, Des Moines, Mrs. Linda Gillian, Fontana, Calif., Mrs. Frances Hartz, Bloomington, Calif., and Mrs. Loraine Woods, Indianola, Iowa; and 13 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund. Arrangements will be announced by Ayre-Goodwin.

Coordinator's note: Middle name taken from 1919 Madison County Birth Record. Of the surname spelling discrepancies between the two obituaries, "Agee", "Lett", and "Wood" are correct.
