Francis J. Lenan, Des Moines

Funeral services for Francis J. Lenan, 68, Des Moines, who died of cancer Aug. 19 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital were held Aug. 22 in Des Moines with military services held at Winterset Cemetery.

Mr. Lanan was born in Polk County and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was a retired stockman at the John Deere plant in Ankeny. He was a member of United Auto Workers, the VFW, and was a veteran of World War II, earning the Purple Heart. Mr. Lenan was an auxiliary police volunteer for several years in Polk County.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Garrett Lenan; daughters, Nancy Seddon and Pamela Cody, both of Des Moines; four grandchildren, four brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
