C. I. Bevington, familiarly known as "Irv", died in this city at 7 a.m., Saturday, March 30, from an acute attack of pneumonia. The funeral services were held at the residence of his parents, Dr. & Mrs. C. D. Bevington Sunday afternoon.

Irvin Bevington Dead

Irvin Bevington died, Saturday morning from pneumonia. He was taken sick Tuesday and though he had a constitution that seemingly was of iron he rapidly succumbed to the disease and Friday night all hope was given up. He was forty-two years of age and was born in Winterset.

For several years he had been associated with his father in business and was a member of the firm of C. D. Bevington & Co. He was a director of the First national Bank.

He had no family, his wife having procured a divorce last year and there being no children. The funeral occurred Sunday at the residence of his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Bevington, the funeral services being in charge of the Winterset firemen, of which body he was a member.

Death of C. I. Bevington

The people of Winterset sere startled on last Saturday morning to hear of the death of Charles Irvin Bevington who had been sick but a few days with pneumonia. He was born in Winterset October 3, 1858 and his entire life had been spent in this community. September 21, 1887 he married Clara Stitt. He had been associated in business with his father, Dr. C. D. Bevington for several years. He was also a director of the First National Bank of Winterset. His funeral was held at the residence of his parents on Sunday afternoon, the sermon being preached by Rev. L. E. Follansbee, assisted by Rev. C. J. English. The full force of the city fire department of which he was a member was present and escorted his remains to the cemetery.
