Orval W. Leggett, Truro

Services for Orval W. Leggett, 85, Truro, who died May 4, at Des Moines General Hospital, were held Saturday, May 7, at the Kale Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Eggers of Indianola officiating. Burial was at the Hartman Cemetery at Truro.

Born May 11, 1902 at Truro, he was the son of William and Becca Cox Leggett. He was married to Pearl DeLong on July 4, 1922. He was married a second time to Donola Motsinger on May 27, 1951.

Mr. Leggett was a school custodian at Truro for many years.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Dale and wife Ardis of Beatrice, Neb., Robert and wife Sheelagh of Des Moines, Ronald and wife Ruth of Shertz, Texas, and William and wife Joy of Indianola; a brother, Lonnie of Des Moines; sisters, Blanche Travis of Dallas Center, Leona Quick of Des Moines, and Clara Reeves of California; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and two daughters.

Orval Leggett Dies in D. M.

Services for Orval William Leggett, 84, of Truro, who died Wednesday, May 4, 1988 at Des Moines General Hospital, were held Saturday, May 7 at Kale Funeral Home in Truro. The Rev. Jack Eggers of Indianola officiated, with interment in Hartman Cemetery, Truro.

Mr. Leggett, was born May 11, 1902 at Truro, the son of William L. Leggett and Becca Cox Leggett. He attended Truro schools.

He married Pearl DeLong on July 4, 1922. She preceded him in death. He married Donola Motsinger on May 27, 1951 at Cromwell.

He was a school janitor at Truro for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Donola of Truro; sons: Dale Leggett and wife, Ardis of Beatrice, Nebraska; Robert Doyle Leggett and wife, Sheelagh of Des Moines; Ronald Leggett and wife, Ruth of Shertz, Texas and William Leggett and wife, Joy of Indianola; three sisters, Blanche Travis of Dallas Center, Iowa; Leona Quick of Des Moines and Clara Reeves of California; one brother, Lonnie Leggett of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearl; two daughters, one in infancy and Wanda.
