1965MRS. LYDA LEEPER DIES AT 93 YEARS
Was Last Surviving Member of Family of Eight Children
Mrs. Lyda Leeper, a life-time resident of Madison county, died Sunday February 14, at a Winterset nursing home. She was 93 years of age.
Mrs. Leeper was the former Lyda M. G. Eppard, daughter of William S. and Mary Meadows Eppard. She was born in this county July 15, 1871 and spent her entire life here.
She was a member of the Christian church.
She was married April 16, 1891, at Winterset to Jesse Leeper. He preceded her in death, as did one son, Lloyd Leeper. Her seven brothers and sisters all preceded her in death also.
Surviving are a son, Carroll F. Leeper of Earlham ; a daughter, Mrs. Emmett Cook of Winterset; a nephew whom she reared in her home, Clarence R. Eppard of Charles City; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. William Bowles, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset. Burial was made in Penn Center cemetery.
