SAM C. HILDEBRAND DIES

Samuel C. Hildebrand, former Madison county resident, died at his home near Springhill Wednesday, Oct. 21st at the age of 77 years. He was the youngest son of Samuel and Martha Hildebrand and was born Aug. 14, 1865, on the home farm four miles north of Winterset. He moved to Warren county when he was 19 years of age, and has since been engaged in farming. For fifty-five years he had lived in the same farm home near Springhill.

On November 25, 1886 he was married to Miss Rose Alexander and they were the parents of one daughter, Cretia, Mrs. George Hoover of Indianola. They also raised their nephew Eugene Alexander, having taken him into their home when he was three days old. They raised and educated him, and he is now pastor of the Methodist church in Coon Rapids.

Mrs. Hildebrand died April 16, 1937. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Hoover, his nephew, Rev. Eugene Alexander, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a number of nephews and nieces.

The Rev. A. N. Simpson, former pastor of the Church of Christ in Norwalk, conducted his funeral services in the Springhill Methodist church last Friday and burial was made in the Webb cemetery.
