BYRON GENTRY DIED FRIDAY AT 73 YEARS

Long-Time Resident Had Been in Failing Health Past Two Years

Byron Gentry, a life-long resident of Madison county, died at the Winterset hospital last Friday after an illness of several weeks there. He was 73 years of age, and had been in failing health the past two years.

Mr. Gentry was born in this county on Sept. 27, 1868, the son of W. W. and Ellen Gentry. On March 15, 1899, he was married to Delila Landers. They were the parents of three children, one of whom died in infancy.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Alvin Gentry; one daughter, Mrs. Mabel DeBok; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Maggie Ferris of Atwood, Colo., Mrs. Belle Palmer of Ottawa, Ill., Mrs. Minnie Stickler of Altoona, and Sylvia Gentry of Winterset; one brother, Mac Gentry of Winterset.

Funeral services were held from Anderson's home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. L. F. Davis of Winterset. Burial was made in Union Chapel cemetery.

DEATH CLAIMS BYRON GENTRY

Madison County Resident Entire Lifetime. Funeral Services Sunday.

Byron Gentry, 73-year-old Madison county farmer, died Friday in the Winterset hospital where he had been a patient during the past two months. Gentry had been in ill health during the past two years.

Byron Gentry was the son of W. W. and Ellen Gentry and was born in Madison county, September 27, 1868 and died at the age of 73 years, 11 months and one day.

He was united in marriage to Delila Landers on March 15, 1899 and to this union three children were born, Alvin, Mrs. Mabel DeBok and Mary who died in infancy.

Madison county had always been his home and he was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. He was a member of the Methodist church and formerly a member of the I.O.O.F. and Rebekah lodges.

Besides the above named there remain to mourn him, his wife, eight grandchildren, Lorraine, Wayne and Ardith Gentry, Mrs. Lloyd Lull, Hubert, Herbert, Leona May and Mayola DeBok. Four sisters, Mrs. Maggie Ferris, Atwood, California; Mrs. Belle Palmer, Ottawa, Illinois; Mrs. Minnie Stickler, Altoona; Miss Sylvia Gentry, Winterset and one brother, Mac Gentry of Winterset; besides other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Anderson funeral home for funerals on Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis. Burial was made in the Union Chapel cemetery.
