MRS. VIOLA MCKINNEY DIED HERE SUNDAY

Succumbs at Age of 81 Years; Funeral Rites Held Wednesday

Mrs. Viola McKinney, a long-time resident of Madison county, died at her home in Winterset Sunday at the age of 81 years. She had been in rapidly failing health for the past year.

Mrs. McKinney was the former Viola John, and was born in Greene county on July 26, 1861. In 1885 she was married to D. C. Spencer. They were the parents of one son. Mr. Spencer died in 1893, and she was later married to Jim McKinney. To this union also one son was born.

She is survived by the two sons, T. D. Spencer of Peru and Cecil McKinney of Cedar Rapids, and their families.

Funeral services were held Wednesday from Anderson's home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made at Avon, Iowa.
