Retired Farmer Had Spent 80 Years of Life near Barney
Ilot Leasman of Winterset retired farmer, died at Memorial hospital here Friday, Aug. 5, at the age of 89 years.
Mr. Leasman was born on a farm near Barney and spent 80 years of his life farming there. Since then, his home had been in Winterset.
He was born Feb. 19, 1871, a son of Henry and Mary Bardrick Leasman. On Dec. 27, 1911, he was married to Bertha Ackelson who survives him.
He was a member of the Christian church.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Velma Fisher of Lorimor; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Jesse Leasman of Peru; and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Gear of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home. Burial was made in the Barney cemetery.
