Funeral Services Friday for Life-Long Resident of Community
Jennie Leasman, member of a pioneer Monroe township family, died at her home near Barney last Wednesday, Jan. 14. She was 82 years of age.
Miss Leasman was born in Monroe township Jan. 19, 1876,a daughter of Henry and Mary Leasman.
She was a life-long member of the Barney Christian church, where, as a young woman, she had been an organist and member of the choir.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Minnie Gear of Winterset; and two brothers, Ilot Leasman of Winterset and Jesse Leasman of Barney.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Watts Funeral home in Lorimor, conducted by the Rev. Ernestine Smith, pastor of the Church of God. Burial was made in the Barney cemetery.
