Ida Myrl Leach of 123 E. North St. died Friday, Nov. 7 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 86. She had lived in Madison County most of her life.
Born in Adel on June 22, 1894, she was the daughter of William Frederick and Ida Mae Hoyt Tyer. She was united in marriage to W. Ray Leach on Sept. 15, 1920 in Winterset, and her husband survives her.
A homemaker, Mrs. Leach was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, World War I Auxiliary and was a Past Noble Grand of Rebekah Lodge.
Also surviving are two daughters, Doris Schirm of Winterset and Phyllis Simmons of Waukee; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at the First United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alan Parker officiating. Burial was at the McDonald-Chase Cemetery.
