Graveside services for Alta Frances Lavalleur, 87, Winterset, who died Feb. 24 at the Care Center North, were held at the Green Castle Cemetery at rural Colfax on Friday, Feb. 26, with the Rev. Doris Kinton officiating.
Born in Colfax on Dec. 18, 1900, she was the daughter of Lewis and Della Conwell Lavalleur. A retired schoolteacher, she lived in Winterset several years after living in California for 28 years.
She graduated from high school at Emporia, Kan., attended the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and was a teacher in rural Madison County.
Survivors include sisters, Beatrice and Velma Lavalleur of Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
