George Love Was Member of Pioneer Family in Union Township
George Love, member of a pioneer Union township family, died Sunday in Des Moines as a result of a fractured hip. He was 71 years of age.
Mr. Love was born in 1871 in Union township, the son of Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Love. Most of his life was spent near and in Patterson. He left Patterson in 1923 and had since made his home in Des Moines.
Mr. Love was a carpenter by trade. He worked at this trade until 1927, at which time he received an injury that left him an invalid.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Love; five sons, George Love of Pasadena, Calif., John Love of Des Moines, Robert Love of the United States navy, Phillip Love of Maywood, Calif., and Murray Love of the United States army; and one daughter, Mrs. Alice Leutzinger of Des Moines. He also leaves six grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Howell of Des Moines and Mrs. Belle Nunn of Clinton.
Funeral services were held from the Patterson Methodist church Tuesday, in charge of the Rev. James Walls, pastor. Burial was made in the Montpelier cemetery.
