Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 18, at 10:30 a.m. from Macksburg United Methodist Church for Dana Lattig, 87, who died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 1978 at Memorial Hospital in Winterset.
He was born July 9, 1891, in Anita, Iowa, the son of Cyrus Jacobe and Mary Emily Fuller Lattig. Mr. Lattig retired from farming in 1961, after a lifetime residence in Madison County.
His marriage to Laura M. Dorsey took place Nov. 30, 1910 in Atlantic, Iowa. She survives her husband. Also surviving is a son, Cyrus Lattig of Macksburg and five daughters, Ethelyn (Mrs. George) Spencer of Winterset, Lucy (Mrs. Floyd) Kirkland of Macksburg, Clarice (Mrs. Kenneth) Claypool of Long Beach, Calif., Isobel (Mrs. Donald) Duff of Exira, Ia. and Harriet (Mrs. Marvin) Garrett of Kinsley, Ka.; also a sister, Cora Amelia (Mrs. H. H.) Crandell of San Clemente, Calif.
Mr. Lattig is survived by 36 grandchildren and 60 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Delmar Dana Lattig and four brothers, Francis, Merle, James, and Arthur.
Officiating at Saturday's services was Rev. John Ackerman. Burial was made at the Moon Cemetery.
