VIVIAN SWAN RAYMOND, Winterset

Services for Vivian Swan Raymond, 82, Winterset, who died June 14, 1983, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Thursday, June 16, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Borger officiating. Burial was at the Ridgedale Cemetery at Camp Dodge.

Born at Saylorville, Iowa on Feb. 7, 1901, she was the daughter of John and Josephine Stover Reed. She married John C. Swan Oct. 21, 1919 at Johnston. He died Nov. 11, 1980. She married Edward Raymond Nov. 28, 1981 in Des Moines, and he survives.

Mrs. Raymond spent most of her life as a homemaker and she and her first husband, John, operated a dairy farm in Lorimor for 50 years. She was a member of the Lorimor Methodist Church, Lorimor Eastern Star Venue Chapter No. 295; Lorimor Past Matrons Club; Lorimor Triangle Club; Lorimor Lionelles; Golden Year Club in Winterset; and was a volunteer at the Multi-Purpose Center here. She lived in Winterset about four years after coming from Lorimor.

Other survivors include foster sons, John Thomas Reed and Richard Reed of Winterset; daughters, Helen (Mrs. John) Grandfield of Winterset; Lucille (Mrs. Jack) Ewing of Des Moines; Pat Walker of Atchinson, Kan.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, an infant daughter and a grandson.
