Charles A. Mitchell, long-time farmer in Madison and Adair counties, died at the Harken hospital in Osceola, Thursday, April 1. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Macksburg on Sunday, April 4, at 2:30 p.m. and were conducted by Rev. Englund of Lorimor. Interment was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Charles A. Mitchell, son of William and Elizabeth Mitchell, was born Dec. 6, 1878 near Macksburg. In 1903, he united with the Methodist church, and has always been a consistent christian. In 1920, he was united in marriage to Bertha Ellen Vance and to this union was born one son, Raymond R.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mrs. Charles Mitchell, and son, Raymond R. Mitchell, one granddaughter, Norma Jean, and five sisters, Mrs. Anna Silverthorne of Greenfield, Mrs. Dora Lowden and Mrs. Lucy Huffman of Winterset, Mrs. Gertrude Pratt of Creston, and Mrs. Della McKay of Kansas City, Kansas, and many nieces and nephews.
