Elderly Resident Passed ThursdayMrs. John Summerville, a life-long resident of Madison county, died at her home in Winterset last Thursday. She was 75 years of age.
Mrs. Summerville was the former Nancy Ann Shreves, daughter of Jonas and Elizabeth Shreves, and was born near Bevington on March 29, 1863. There she grew to womanhood.
She was married to John Summerville on Nov. 15, 1882. They lived on a farm near St. Charles until about 25 years ago, when they came to Winterset, spending the remainder of their lives here. Mr. Summerville died in 1928.
As a young woman she had united with the Methodist church of St. Charles, of which she was a member at the time of her death.
Mrs. Summerville leaves three sisters, Mrs. Sadie Bean of Chicago, and Olive and Zulema Shreves of Winterset.
Funeral services were held from the Tidrick funeral home in Winterset last Saturday, conducted by the Rev. J. R. McNichols, pastor of the local Methodist church. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
