MAURICE SULLIVAN, Des Moines

Maurice E. Sullivan, 79, of Des Moines, died of congestive heart failure Aug. 14, 1996 at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Funeral services were Aug. 19 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Des Moines. Burial was at the Jefferson Cemetery.

He was born in Boone. He was an Iowa Securities Supervisor for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and retired in 1982. He was also a retired U. S. Army W.W. II 1st Lieutenant veteran. He lived in Winterset for a time and moved to Des Moines where he lived for the last 40 years. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Telephone Pioneers, and the Beaverdale V.F.W. Post 9127.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Ruth Sullivan of Des Moines; three sons, Maurice Sullivan and wife Ann (Webster) of Oconomowoc, Wis., Mark Sullivan and wife Elaine of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Timothy Sullivan and wife Beth of Jackson, Mich.; two daughters, Susan Sullivan-Waugaman and husband Jack of Kensington, Md., and Kate Sullivan-Brekke and husband Tron of Annandale, Va.; one brother, John Sullivan of Peoria, Ill.; and 14 grandchildren.
