David Lathrum Died Sunday

David A. Lathrum, a life time resident of Madison county in the St. Charles vicinity, and a well-known retired farmer, died at his temporary residence in the Hamilton Hotel, Winterset, Sunday, July 15, 1973. He was 86 years of age.

Mr. Lathrum was born March 20, 1887 at St. Charles, the son of Samuel C. and Maria Mirum Schultz Lathrum. He was married to Anna Freeborn, February 19, 1907 in St. Charles.

Surviving Mr. Lathrum are four children: Walter Lathrum of St. Charles, Sam Lathrum of Winterset, Mrs. Leah Woodford of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa and Mrs. Dorothy Smith of Booneville, Iowa.

Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and one brother, Glen Lathrum of St. Charles.

Mr. Lathrum was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, July 18 at 10:00 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with burial in the St.Charles Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Bousfield, First United Methodist Church of Winterset, officiated.
