MRS. RENA MATHENY DIED LAST THURSDAY

Long-Time Madison County Resident Succumbs in Des Moines

Mrs. Rena Matheny, a resident of Madison county most of her life, died last Thursday in Des Moines where she had lived the past 15 years. She was 71 years of age.

Mrs. Matheny was the former Rena Osborn, daughter of James M. Osborn, and was born and reared in this county. Her first marriage was to F. M. McKibben. They were the parents of eight children, two of whom preceded the mother in death. Those surviving are Gladys, Glen, Marie, Marion, Josephine and Joe.

She was later married to E. A. Matheny, whose death occurred only last year.

In addition to the children, she leaves eight brothers and one sister. They are: Earl Osborn of Patterson, Jed Osborn of Winterset, Lawrence Osborn of St. Charles, Darwin Osborn of Franklin, Minn., Kenney and Jess Osborn of Jerome, Ida., Frank Osborn of Stockton, Calif., Sam Osborn of Detroit, and Mrs. Ethel Palmer of Osceola.

Funeral services were held Monday from White's Funeral home in Des Moines.
