Death of Roy Lane

Roy N. Lane, son of Josephine Houston and Newton Lane was born May 9, 1891 east of Booneville and died July 4, 1977 at the age of 86, in the Winterset Care Center South.

Married in 1910 to Nina Reid, Mr. Lane farmed south of Booneville for many years. They also lived in Polk City, Liberty Center, Rippey, Grand Junction, where their 50th wedding anniversary was celebrated, Adel, and Winterset, where their 65th wedding aniversary was celebrated.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Allen of Booneville; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, four sisters, his son Lawrence and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held July 7, 1977 at the Chamberlain Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter. Rev. Ellis Andrews officiated. Burial was made at the Booneville Cemetery.
